At River Town Racers, we believe that the path to the podium begins with character. While our foundation is built on the Petaluma River in Northern California, our impact is felt far beyond its banks. Our mission is to provide a unique, high-performance outlet that uses the discipline of flatwater sprint kayak racing to forge resilience, world-class skill, and "whole humans" ready to lead on and off the water.
We are dedicated to ensuring that talent and grit—not financial means—determine an athlete’s success. Our Fuel the Finish campaign is the bridge to starting lines in the US and abroad. Your contributions directly fund travel for National and International championships and provide essential scholarships for our paddlers, allowing our athletes to bring their best to the competition.

Our History
In 2014 they found their first summer camper who wanted to go on. Seven years later, in 2021, that same camper won a silver medal at the World Championships for athletes under age 23.
The club formed with Craig Caddell, the camper’s father, as co-founder and in 2018 RTR incorporated as a California 501(c)(3).
Since its founding, RTR has served nearly 100 young people of varied backgrounds and abilities.
